Father's Day at the Gonzaga Campus Kindergarten: an experience of care, relationship and shared joy
Father's Day at the Gonzaga Campus kindergarten was not just a celebration, but an authentic opportunity to experience the educational relationship in its most beautiful form: one that unites family and school in a shared journey of growth, affection and discovery.
In true Ignatian style, we chose to put the person, the relationship and the experience at the center, transforming this week into a time full of meaning for the children and their fathers.
A first gesture of love: the photographic card from the Nursery
For the little ones in the Nursery, Father's Day translated into a simple but tender gesture:
a personalized photographic card, carefully prepared by the educators together with the children.
A small gift that contains a great meaning:
👉 preserve a moment,
👉 make a bond visible,
👉 say "I love you" even without words.
At this age, every experience is deeply sensory and emotional: this is why the symbolic value of an image becomes a living memory, to be preserved over time.
The photo booth: a space for meeting, creativity and memory
At the kindergarten, the heart of the celebration was a large photobooth, designed and created by the teachers with love, creativity and educational attention.
A space designed not only to take photographs, but to experience a moment of authentic relationship between fathers and children.
Made using recycled materials, the photo booth embodied one of the central educational themes of this year: caring for creation and responsibility towards what surrounds us.
Each shot thus became:
• an indelible memory
• a shared experience
• a fragment of daily happiness
Fathers as protagonists: stories, music and wonder
The week dedicated to Father's Day at the Gonzaga Campus kindergarten also saw an active and generous participation of many fathers, who chose to donate time, talent and presence.
We witnessed moments of great involvement:
• fathers who told fairy tales and stories, opening worlds of imagination
• musician fathers who played instruments such as the ukulele, filling the spaces with harmony
• juggler fathers who, between oranges, dance and laughter, transformed the ordinary into wonder
and of course, songs sung together, because shared joy is always the most authentic
In these gestures, a profound educational truth became visible: the presence of parents in school life is not accessory, but essential.
Educating is a shared journey
This experience reminds us that educating, in the wake of Ignatian pedagogy, means walking together, building strong and meaningful educational alliances.
Father's Day at the Gonzaga Campus kindergarten was precisely this: a time in which school and family met, recognized and supported each other. So that every child can grow up feeling seen, welcomed and loved.
A memory that remains, a bond that grows
What remains of these days are not only photographs or activities, but experiences that leave a mark on the heart.
They are seeds of relationship, trust and belonging that, day after day, continue to grow.
And in this, as an educating community, we recognize our deepest mission: to take care of people, one by one, in their uniqueness.
