Under-17 Final Four: Gonzaga Verga Palermo Chasing the Regional Title

The great youth women's basketball stops in Agrigento. On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March, the PalaNicosia will become the stage for the Under-17 Final Four, an unmissable event that will decree the queen team of Sicily. Among the protagonists, Gonzaga Verga Palermo stands out, ready to defend the prestige of a season played at the highest levels.

The Road to Agrigento

The girls of Gonzaga Verga arrive at this event with an impressive track record, having dominated the West Group with a clear 12-0. Their technical solidity and ability to work as a team have made them the team to beat from the very beginning of the championship. But now the stakes are higher: the semi-finals represent the first real obstacle towards the final goal.

The weekend promises to be intense and full of emotions with a calendar that leaves no room for distractions:

Saturday, March 21: The Semifinals

At 6:30 pm, Gonzaga Verga Palermo will face Pegaso Ragusa in a match that promises to be heated. Following at 8:15 pm will be the turn of Pallacanestro Viagrande against Golfobasket Women.

Sunday, March 22: The Finals

The morning will begin at 9:00 am with the final for 3rd and 4th place. The highlight will come at 11:00 am when the two winners of Saturday will compete for the title of Regional Champion.

The National Dream at Stake

Winning the Final Four does not only mean raising the regional cup. The team that wins the title will gain direct access to the national gatherings scheduled for mid-April. Even the finalist will have a second chance through the interregional play-offs, keeping alive the dream of representing Sicily at the National Finals which will be held between the end of April and the beginning of May.
