A Mediterranean Bridge: The Erasmus+ Experience between Palermo and Barcelona
From March 15th, the Gonzaga Campus opened its doors to a wave of international energy.
The third-year classes of our lower secondary school, led by Prof. Cataldo, welcomed the students of 1st ESO from the Jesuïtes Casp school in Barcelona. This Erasmus+ exchange immediately proved to be much more than just an educational trip: it was a true meeting of cultures, a journey of discovery, and a fundamental step in personal growth for each participant.

The welcome was characterized by that typically Mediterranean warmth that unites our lands. The days were intense and full of stimuli, allowing the children to share not only the school desks, but a daily life made of linguistic exchanges and new friendships. Fundamental was the role of the Gonzaga families, who opened their homes with genuine Sicilian hospitality, making the experience authentic and deeply meaningful for the young Spanish guests.
The educational program saw the children involved in Italian, music, religion, science and ecology lessons, fully experiencing the educational offer of our Campus. But learning also continued through the streets of Palermo, where students were able to admire the historical links between the two cities through the study of the Gothic-Catalan route and the elegance of the Palermitan Liberty style. Language thus became a natural bridge, transforming diversity into a valuable resource.
As we prepare to say goodbye to our "twins" from Barcelona, we are left with the awareness of having built bonds that transcend geographical boundaries. A special thanks goes to Prof. Martinez for making this precious contact between Jesuïtes Casp and our Campus possible. We are certain that this "Hasta pronto" is only the beginning of a long series of collaborations and international friendships.
