What is Civil Service?
It is the opportunity made available to young people aged 18 to 29 (not yet completed) to dedicate a year of their life in favour of a solidarity commitment understood as a commitment for the good of all and of each and therefore as a value of social cohesion.
The National Civil Service, established with law 6 March 2001 n° 64, is a way of defending the homeland, whose "duty" is enshrined in article 52 of the Constitution; an "unarmed and non-violent" defense that must not be referred to the territory of the State and the protection of its external borders, but rather to the sharing of common values that found the democratic order of our state.
It is an opportunity that allows you to undertake an enriching one-year volunteer experience, enables you to acquire skills useful for life and for entering the world of work, earns university training credits and a valid score in public competitions, is redeemable for pension purposes, provides monthly remuneration, certification of acquired skills and … much more! With Legislative Decree 40/2017 and subsequent amendments, the National Civil Service has been transformed into Universal Civil Service, introducing some innovations, including several months of service dedicated to job orientation or in foreign countries. In addition to the participation of young people with fewer opportunities, access has also been extended to EU citizens and regularly residing foreigners.
